Datacard releases enhancements for retransfer ID card printers

News for SR200

Datacard Group is bringing new product features to its Datacard SR200 and SR300 retransfer card printers.
The new product enhancements come in the form of more factory-installed smart card encoding modules as well as field-upgradeable encoding that can support various contact and contactless card types. There are also new configurations added to the printers’ Software Development Kits (SDKs) that provide tools for card design, secure card production and management of card programs.

Datacard’s retransfer card printers are used primarily by enterprises, universities and government agencies to issue full-color printed cards with over-the-edge coverage. The SR200 model personalizes single-sided applications, while the SR300 printer enables dual-sided printing and can encode both magnetic stripe and smart cards – including contact and contactless.

Datacard’s printers employ retransfer technology to print on all standard card surfaces and materials, including blank or preprinted cards, PET, PET-G, polycarbonate and PVC cards.

Organizations also have the option to specifically construct a comprehensive card issuance solution from Datacard Group by adding the company’s software, certified supplies and global services. The SR200 and SR300 retransfer printers are also integrated with optional Datacard card laminators that can apply protective topcoats, overlays and laminates to the card to help extend card life and strengthen card security.

Datacard’s printers will be on display at ISC West 2014 in Las Vegas, April 2-4 at booth #2083.
